About the Book

Snowed in at an Alpine ski lodge, a family holiday turns lethal when Opa Wolfgang is found frozen to death—and everyone has a motive.

This story is inspired by real annual ski holidays to the Austrian Alps, although no one in the friend group has been murdered, so far. Imagine pristine slopes, steaming mulled wine, and cozying up to the fire with a good book. The plot also weaves in themes from my master’s thesis on sustainable adaptations to climate change in ski regions.

For anyone who enjoyed “Knives Out.”

Learn what’s beneath the snow & the environmental themes:

As climate change threatens industries and biodiversity around the world, particularly that of Alpine regions, I wanted to find a way to turn the heavy narrative on the climate crisis into a more light-hearted and palatable one. I included themes from my master’s thesis, titled “Sustainable Adaptations to Climate Change: A Comparison of Austrian and United States Ski Areas into this story.

  • Volatile weather patterns
  • Transport-related emissions
  • Greenwishing from the tourists’ point of view
  • Redesigning tourism business models in Alpine regions

The Overture

Caught in a love triangle fueled by obsession, guilt, and impulsive heartbreak, three people spiral toward a collision they may not survive.

This story digs into the ways love, anger, and jealousy can be twisted and used. Everyone knows that one couple with explosive personalities, the kind that sets fire to every room they walk into. And somehow, everyone around them keeps rushing in to put the flames out. But they always find their way back to each other. Why?
