The Creator
“It’s not about what it is, it’s about what it can become.”
Dr. Seuss, The Lorax

Beatrice King︱Founder and Creative Director of Howling Ridge Productions.
An avid traveler, Beatrice has crossed the snow-dusted Alps and remote mountain ranges around the world. Those landscapes seep into her work, shaping its settings, atmosphere, and emotional tension.
Based in Hamburg, Germany, Beatrice holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Sustainability, a background that informs the environmental undercurrents woven throughout her work.
Her writing blends psychological suspense, mystery, and emotionally charged character dynamics, exploring love, heartbreak, and impulsive passion in dark, atmospheric adventures.
Behind the Creations

The Stories
Beatrice crafts thought-provoking narratives across mystery, adventure thriller, suspense, sustainability, and mental health. Her stories are rooted in tension, sharp turns, and psychology. Each plot is built to pull you in and linger long after dark.
More
Stories tend to surface when we least expect them. Beatrice began writing short fiction for contests in 2023, and her passion for storytelling kept growing. Over the years, it expanded into published work, visual media, a production brand, and a new novel on the way.
“To move past the embarrassment of publishing my work, I had to ask myself, ‘If no one could read this or judge it, what would I actually write?’ Then I told myself, ‘Okay. Now write that.’”

The Visuals
As a creator, Beatrice directs, films, and edits nature and travel content that blends real-life adventure with cinematic storytelling. From alpine landscapes to remote northern roads, her visual work expands the worlds behind the stories.
More
It started with an old GoPro 7 on a trip to Germany’s Black Forest in 2020. The footage was, of course, cheesy, fumbly, and full of awkward angles. Over time, her skills sharpened, and her gear improved, and the adventures on screen became both epic and fun.
“What an incredible way to share our travels with friends, family, and our audience. Pairing writing projects with cinematic imagery brings the adventures to life.”

The Companion
Oakley is Beatrice’s travel buddy and built-in security system. She is a fierce companion on many of the trips and has inspired some of the more devious (but loyal) animal companions that show up in the stories, such as Death in the Alps and Journey to Nordkapp.
More
Oakley is a Central Asian Village Dog from Siberia. Beatrice adopted her in 2023 after Oakley was moved between multiple homes in a short amount of time. What began with hesitation has turned into a close bond, and she’s now a constant companion who makes every place feel a little more like home.
“I’ve always believed that if you’re nice to animals, they’ll be nice back. It took a while for Oakley to rebuild trust after being moved around so much. The bond we built is a forever love.”
The Howl
We love a great animal sidekick. As part of the brand’s core values, 50% of net proceeds are donated to animal rescue non-profits, turning storytelling into tangible impact.

“You cannot share your life with a dog… or a cat, and not know perfectly well that animals have personalities and minds and feelings.”
– Jane Goodall
